FontBlitz ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by Filip Vitas, an independent developer based in Serbia, who acts as the data controller for your personal data under applicable data protection laws.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the FontBlitz browser extension and related services (the "Service").

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide the Service.

2. Information We Collect

If you create an account, we collect your email address and basic account information necessary to operate the Service, such as account ID, subscription status, plan type, and related timestamps. Payment details are handled by Polar.sh and are not stored by us.

If you use the free plan without creating an account, we collect no personal information whatsoever.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:

  • No browsing data, browsing history, or website content
  • No font usage data or analytics
  • No tracking pixels, tracking cookies, or fingerprinting
  • No payment or credit card information
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No data is sold to third parties — ever

4. Browser Extension Permissions

FontBlitz requires certain browser permissions to function. Here is what each permission is used for and why it is necessary:

  • tabs — Used to detect the current website URL so we can save and apply font preferences per website. We do not track or store your browsing history.
  • scripting — We do not collect, store, or transmit website content. FontBlitz locally injects style changes into the active page only to change how fonts are displayed in your browser. These changes are temporary and do not alter the underlying website or send page content to us or any third party.
  • fontSettings — Used to change the browser's default font settings when you apply a system font.
  • storage — Used to save your preferences (theme, favorites, saved websites) locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.
  • sidePanel — Used to display FontBlitz in the browser's side panel for a better experience alongside your browsing.
  • host_permissions (all URLs) — Required to inject font styles on any website you visit. Without this permission, FontBlitz could not apply fonts to the pages you are viewing. We do not read or collect any content from the websites you visit.

We process your personal data under contractual necessity — your email address and account information are required to create and manage your account, authenticate you, and provide the Service.

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to these countries. We rely on our service providers' data protection commitments and standard contractual clauses where applicable.

Your email and account data are stored securely on Convex's infrastructure. Extension preferences (theme, favorites, saved websites) are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local and never leave your device.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove all personal data associated with your account without undue delay. We may retain limited records where required by law or where held by third-party providers (such as payment transaction records maintained by Polar.sh under their own policies).

Regardless of where you are located, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Deletion — You can request that we delete your account and all associated data
  • Portability — You can request your data in a portable format
  • Correction — You can request correction of inaccurate data
  • Objection — You can object to the processing of your personal data
  • Restriction — You can request that we restrict the processing of your data
  • Complaint — You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
